Bristol Manor Farm were good value for their victory in this pre season encounter at The Creek on Tuesday night.
There was some bright football on display from both teams during the games opening twenty minutes and Farm almost took the lead when a cross-short from right back Stuart Tovey took a deflection which saw the ball loop up and force the advancing Bridgewater keeper Jake Viney to back-pedal sharply and glove the spinning ball out from under the crossbar at his near post.
Farm were in the ascendancy now and took the lead on 34 minutes when quick thinking from new signing Owen Howe saw him walk the ball around Viney and finish nicely into an unguarded net.
Howe bagged his second ten minutes into the second half in a similar one on one with the keeper, this time coolly dinking the ball wide of Viney as he advanced in vain.
Dean Stamp lashed in a third goal on 73 minutes with a smart left foot shot across the keeper and Owen Howe secured his hat-trick with the goal of the game four minutes later. Substitute Pete Sheppard played the striker into space with a skillful defence-splitting volley and Howe flicked the ball over Viney before smashing gleefully home.
Bridgewater pulled back a consolation goal five minutes from time when Sam Towler slotted home a smart effort from twelve yards out following good work down the left.
Another good pre-season work-out for the Farm with the new season approaching fast…
