Mangotsfield sprung a surprise on their hosts, coming back from 1-0 down to claim all three points in this fascinating local derby at a windswept, rainy Creek.
The Mango’s made the brighter start of the two teams but it was Manor Farm who looked the most dangerous with a series of eye-catching attacks and good interplay upfront. It was from one such attack that Farm took a deserved lead when picking up a neat one-two Lewis Bamford flicked the ball on for himself, held off his defender and finished coolly across Kieran Hodges in the Mangotsfield goal.
Just a little over ten minutes later the visitors got their equaliser when full back Matty Tanner marauded forward, worked a neat interchange and finished smartly past Ben John.
The first half had been a bright, eventful contest but the second half, played in squally conditions, soon became something of a war of attrition with Adam Kelly scoring what proved to be the winner in the 58th minute. Mangotsfield broke on the counter and with the Manor Farm defence stretched Kelly eventually swept in off the underside of the crossbar from 12 yards out.
