Bristol Manor Farm 0 Evesham United 3
The Robins opened the scoring during the ninth minute of the game when
striker Paul Sullivan had the time and space inside the box to finish cleanly past
Ben John from 15 yards out.
The Farm keeper then had to make a smart fisted stop from Lee Chilton and
shortly afterwards watch a Matt Dodd shot roll just wide of his far post. Some
great last-ditch defending by John and skipper Steve Kingdon kept the lead to a
single goal before Sullivan powered a volley high over the bar on the stroke of
half-time.
Manor Farm had their best spell of the game following the restart with Jamie
Bird’s dipping volley going just wide, Lewis Leigh-Gilchrist rifling past a post
and Tyler Ashmead bringing a fine palmed save from Richard Walton.
Evesham forced their way back into the ascendancy when Dodd smacked a ball
off the post during a fast-breaking attack and the visitors doubled their lead in
the 70 th minute when Jack Cresswell’s deep free-kick snuck in at the near post
without getting a touch from the crowd of players all converging on the ball.
The win was sealed in the 87 th minute when Chilton raced forward before
angling a powerful drive back across John and into the far corner.
