Bristol Manor Farm 0 Mangotsfield United 1
A 20 th minute strike by skipper Lee Hartshon was enough to give Mangotsfield
victory in Saturday’s Bristol derby at The Creek.
For all their endeavour and pacey forward approach play, Manor Farm could
not find an equaliser despite creating a number of chances in the second half.
During a frenetic opening Farm had a good-looking penalty shout turned down
when Joe McClennan was challenged as he marauded into the box and Jordan
Metters hit a shot over the bar following a corner.
The deadlock was broken when Hartshon blasted a rebound home high into the
net after a good save from Ben John from a Treyvond Anderson header.
Farm’s Joe McClennan brought a good low save from Marko Radovanovic six
minutes later after another good run at pace.
With just over five minutes left in the opening half John made a superb save to
keep the score at one-nil when he palmed a firm effort by Hartshon onto the
crossbar and away.
Farm beavered away throughout the second half but an equaliser eluded them
with the best of their many chances falling late to left-back Mason Winter and
midfielder Metters. But on the day there was to be no way past Radavanovic
who stood out and stood strong for the visitors.
