As Bristol Manor Farm FC gears up for a challenging away fixture against newly-promoted Bemerton Heath Harelequins, Manager Lee Lashenko is optimistic about his squad’s chances. In an exclusive interview, Lashenko shared insights into the team’s preparations and expectations for the upcoming clash.
One of the key talking points leading up to Saturday’s encounter is the permanent signing of forward Daniel Dodimead which was announced on Tuesday afternoon. Lashenko expressed his delight at securing Dodimead’s services, praising the player’s ability and attitude.
“Dan signing on a permanent deal is a fantastic development for us. He’s shown great promise during his short time with us, and we’re confident that his attacking abilities will play a crucial role at our club,” remarked Lashenko.
“We’re fortunate to have a number of quality forwards already, and with Dan pledging his allegiance to us we’ll only be in better shape heading into the busy festive period.”
Admittedly, last weekend’s narrow defeat to Tavistock came at a surprise for those in attendance at The NL Services Stadium, but Lashenko feels that his side couldn’t have done much more in their efforts.
“We were disappointed with the result against Tavistock, and left slightly numb at the full-time whistle, but I don’t think my players could have done much more right,” Lashenko expressed. “We gift wrapped them two goals, but deservedly drew level and could have even nicked one ourselves at the end.”
Facing a newly-promoted side like Bemerton Heath Harelequins poses its own set of challenges, and Lashenko highlighted the importance of not underestimating the opposition. He emphasised the need for his team to approach the match with respect for the qualities that Bemerton Heath Harelequins bring to the table.
“Every match in this league is a test, and we have to respect our opponents. Bemerton Heath Harelequins have earned their place here, and we’re fully aware of the challenges they can present. We’ve done our homework, and we’re focused on executing our game plan effectively,” Lashenko added.
Bristol Manor Farm hope to have additional boosts to their match day squad on Saturday and will look to make further announcements in the build up.
