Manor Farm host Frome in the two club’s first meeting since Farm’s incredible play-off semi-final win last season.

Founded – 1904
Manager – Danny Greaves
Star man – Luke Hopper
Notable former player – Paul Randall
Last season – 2nd
Last result – 4-1 defeat to Bashley
Fun fact – The club sought advice from a local ‘white witch’ in 2003 after a long period of bad home form.

The Robins

Frome have had an interesting summer recruitment wise. They lost last season’s top marksman Kane Simpson amongst a couple of others but did welcome the signing of former Farm captain, Jamie Adams. Striker Luke Hopper is in fine early season form and a wealth of attacking depth includes Jono Davies and Ben Withy. Whilst skipper Sam Teale controls a steely backline including experienced keeper Kyle Phillips.

The Farm

Farm have started to find their goalscoring touch, including 3 in midweek. Marcus Day got off and running for the season whilst teenage star Evander Grubb is fresh from a brace. Josh Ford and Steve Kingdon are not only formidable defenders but also carry the bulk of Farm’s set piece threat. Youngster Harry Lucas is also finding his feet and took several plaudits on Tuesday night.

The Form

Frome are having somewhat of a mixed start to the season. Last year’s highflyers made an unbeaten start but have lost 3 of their last 4 games in all competitions. Despite that, the Robins still sit comfortably in and around the play-off spots at this very early stage. Farm, as mentioned, finally celebrated a first win since that famous night at Badgers Hill in the cup midweek and will be hoping that momentum can result in a first maximum for their league campaign this season.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
