[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Bristol Manor Farm vs Slimbridge AFC – 02/01/23, 3pm KO.
Bristol Manor Farm kick off the new year with a match against Slimbridge AFC at The BS3 Services Stadium, and Jack Davies is back to preview all of Monday’s action.
Factfile:
Nickname – The Swans
Stadium – Thornhill Park (25 miles)
Founded – 1902
Manager – Tom Speers
Star man – Ethan Dunbar
Last season – 14th
Last match – 3-1 defeat to Bishops Cleeve
Fun fact – The Stadium is named in honour of former player Evi Thornhill who bought and left the land to the club.
The Swans:
Slimbridge will be looking for a new year catalyst and will have been buoyed by the recent efforts of striker Ethan Dunbar. Despite their poor form recently, Slimbridge have tightened up at the back mainly thanks to skipper Myron Turner.
The Farm:
Lee Lashenko’s Farm are back in the goals and will be looking for more here. Captain Jake Gosling is in fine goalscoring form, as is striker Owen Howe – who almost doubled the Farm’s lead at Paulton when he struck the post from the edge of the area. Theo Llewellyn and George Fowler have been key returns to the matchday squad, whilst Harry Lucas’ three consecutive starts ended with a ‘Man of the Match’ performance.
The Form:
This game has the feel of a real ‘six pointer’ as both sides have struggled to capitalise on last season’s growth. Farm have just one win in six, coming against Exmouth Town on December 11, whilst the Swans have lost their last five. A win could take the Portwaymen up three places, whilst a defeat could see their opponents cruelly leapfrog them in the table.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
