MATCH REPORT: Bristol Manor Farm 0-3 Tavistock

Bristol Manor Farm fell to defeat against Tavistock in front of a bumper crowd on Non-League Day.

The first half saw a fairly dominant display from the Portwaymen early on, with Farm having the majority of chances to take the lead. The Portwaymen nearly went ahead within minutes when a shot from Jamie Bird outside the box was well saved by the Tavistock keeper. Manor Farm came very close again when a long-range free kick from Jamie Bird was just about palmed away by Tavistock goalkeeper Aaron Dearing.

However, it was the Lambs who broke the deadlock, as a strike inside the Farm box from Tavistock’s Elliot beat goalkeeper Seth Locke, giving the opposition the lead. Moments later, the Lambs doubled their advantage through Jack Crago, who lobbed Farm keeper Seth Locke, extending their lead at the interval.

In the second half, Tavistock were the more dominant side, creating chances to extend their advantage even further. The Lambs all but secured their three points late on when an attempted lob over Seth Locke came back off the post and was tapped into an empty net by Jack Crago, scoring his second of the match. The Portwaymen had a chance to pull one back late on through a close-range header by Jacob Spence, but it was narrowly headed over the bar.

Next up for Bristol Manor Farm in the league is an away trip to face mid-table opposition Didcot Town, where they will be looking to end their losing streak and get back to winning ways. Didcot Town currently sit in 11th place following their 0-3 defeat to Bishops Cleeve. Following Farm’s defeat, they sit in 10th position, 12 points off a playoff place.
