[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Manor Farm earned a vital three points as they got their first win of 2023 against Willand, writes Jack Davies.
Neither side were in great form but Farm controlled the majority of the opening period. Farm’s centre-backs exchanged the first chances of the game. Steve Kingdon headed a Jake Gosling delivery at goal before fellow centre-back Josh Ford headed his own chance just wide. The Farm would take the lead midway through the half. Marcus Day collected a cleared corner before unleashing an unstoppable drive into the very top corner. Willand got themselves level just minutes after. A clumsy challenge on Ollie Bray presented them with a penalty and Douglas Camilo made no mistake from 12 yards. The equaliser momentarily swung the momentum and the visitors ended the half the stronger. Poole headed a Camilo keeper at Ben John before Bray drove a shot just wide.
Farm regained composure after the break and took the lead just before the hour. Visiting keeper George Burton misjudged a long ball and Owen Howe drove the ball into an empty net for his 12th of the season. Howe came inches away from a brace a few minutes later. His superbly struck volley had Burton beaten but the ball cannoned off the underside of the bar. Willand did create a spell of pressure late on but Farm held firm for a massive three points at The BS3 Services Stadium.
