TURNER SIGNS ON FOR NEXT SEASON
Bristol Manor Farm Football Club is very pleased to report that long serving defender Jamie Turner has signed a new contract here at the Creek.
Turner will be heading into his ninth season at the Farm making him the joint-longest serving player alongside midfielder Lloyd Mills. Farmy Army supporters will also remember Turner’s contribution in the club’s historic Western Premier Division triumph in 2016/17.
Speaking to the club, Turner commented: “All together this will be my ninth year I believe,” Turner began. “Its always been a great honour to play for the club and the main thing for me is getting back out onto the pitch and enjoying my football.
“Since I came back the club for my second spell Laz (Lee Lashenko) has been great to me, and Bristol Manor Farm will always be a club that is close to my heart.
“Next season is definitely going to be an exciting one I think. We’ve got to be the most confident we’ve ever been in our history if we want to achieve our goals,” Turner said.
In addition to the disappointment of having the previous two seasons curtailed due to the pandemic, Turner has had a difficult time dealing with a recurring injury problem that has kept him away from competitive action.
“I’ve done a fair bit of rehab so far,” Turner said. “I’m feeling stronger each day, and hopefully I will be back training in the next month or so. At the moment everything I’m training is purely strength and endurance focussed. I’ve been going on lots of walks and I’ve started playing Golf again which has really helped.
“We’ve set a return target for the end of September to early October. I’d love to get back playing sooner but ultimately it has to be right for me.” Said Turner.
