PLAY-OFF FINAL PREVIEW

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Just another 90 minutes of football stands between Bristol Manor Farm and their ambition of gaining promotion to the Southern League Premier South as Monday’s Play-off Final looms ever closer.

Tuesday night’s victory at Badgers Hills is one that will long live in the memory of everyone connected to the football club. After falling behind in the 35th minute, Farm responded instantly through Kye Simpson and then wrapped up the match in the second half when Owen Howe headed twice past Carey. With the Farm already securing the highest league finish in its history, Manager Lee Lashenko will be hopeful that his side can make that final step in their season.

Standing in their way and looking to spoil the party is Winchester City – a team that shocked many a non-league fan by triumphing in their semi-final against Cirencester Town, winning 4-1 at The Corinium Stadium.

With the match ending 1-1 after normal time, Winchester’s three winning goals came in extra time to set up Monday’s final at the Charters Estate Community Stadium.

The Farm finished just one place behind The Citizens, and will only need to look back on last week’s 2-2 draw against their opponents where Owen Howe struck late to guarantee a play-off spot. With both sides performing admirably in midweek, their season statistics will count for nothing come three o’clock Monday afternoon. This is because Winchester and Bristol Manor Farm will head into the one-off match full of confidence they can win it.

Lashenko described the post-match atmosphere as “absolutely buzzing”, and will have been happy that his side came through Tuesday night’s win over Frome Town relatively unscathed – including two-goal hero Owen Howe who received treatment for a gashed head midway inside the first half.

Kick-off for Monday’s final is at 3pm so come along and show your support for Lee and Bristol Manor Farm, as they look to cap off an already successful season!
