[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Bristol Manor Farm Football Club is thrilled to announce that Steve Kingdon has agreed to extend his contract for 2023/24, taking him into his seventh season at The Creek.
Steve, most commonly known as ‘Kinger’ at The Creek has been an integral part of the Manor Farm defence, since originally joining in the 2017/18 season. Having enjoyed many memorable matches under Manager Lee Lashenko’s stewardship, Kingdon admitted that extending his time at the club was an ‘easy’ decision to make.
“At the beginning of my career, I spent a few years heading up and down the M5 at a few different clubs, including Taunton and Tiverton,” Kingdon began.
“But when Lee originally made the call those years ago, it’s been great to settle here at Manor Farm where I’m really enjoying my football.
“Obviously, last season we didn’t hit the heights that we expected at the start of the season, but after speaking with Lee it’s been great to hear about his plans for next season. I think the way that he will be going about his business sounds like a breath of fresh air for the club, and I can’t wait to get back again,” Kingdon expressed.
Kingdon has already tasted success by winning promotion to the Southern Premier with Tiverton as club captain, and after coming so close with the Farm, the experienced defender is hopeful that they can be more competitive at the top end of the table this time round.
“Hopefully with the players that Lee is brining in to the club, we can have a good chance at fighting at the top again. You look at the likes of Jamie Adams, well I mean he’s the model professional at this level. We’re going to enjoy the rest of the break, but look forward to getting back to pre-season and start looking ahead to the season.”
We hope you join us in giving Kinger a warm welcome back to The Creek for next season!
