Bristol Manor Farm bids farewell to prolific goal scorer Louis Britton, who has departed The NL Services Stadium to pursue an exciting opportunity in the Vanarama National League. The club extends its best wishes to Louis as we celebrate yet another success story in providing a platform for young players to flourish and develop at The Farm.
Louis joined the club in the summer after a spell in the Isthmian League with Maldon & Tiptree, returning to his home city of Bristol to rekindle his passion for the game. Over the past nine months, Louis has provided unforgettable moments both on and off the pitch, and we are thrilled that his time at the club has helped him achieve his goal.
It took Louis a couple of matches to find his rhythm, but once he did, there was no stopping him. He netted his first Farm goal in a fixture against Easington Sports and never looked back. Scoring an incredible 38 goals in all competitions, Louis set a new benchmark at Bristol Manor Farm, achieving a feat not seen at Southern League level and not witnessed since Dean Stamp’s dominant tenure in the Toolstation Western League.
Reflecting on his departure, Louis expressed his gratitude to the club, saying:
“Firstly, I’d just like to thank everyone involved with the club, with a special mention to Laz, who has helped me enjoy football again after a tough period. My main objective was to come in and score goals for him, and I feel this is the right time to push on with my career again. I wish the club all the best for the future. Thank you.”
Manager Lee Lashenko also shared his thoughts on Louis’ impact and departure:
“First and foremost, it has been a real pleasure to work with and manage Louis this season. We knew there was an opportunity to rebuild his career here at The Farm, and we’ve certainly been successful in doing so. His goals have been crucial for us, and lifting the Gloucestershire Senior Challenge Cup in his final appearance seems a fitting way for him to bow out.
Louis’ loyalty has been nothing short of remarkable. He has consistently turned down offers from teams higher up the pyramid system with greater resources, yet he stayed true to me and the club to achieve the goal he set out in the summer. He now joins a growing list of players who have used Bristol Manor Farm as a springboard for greater opportunities, and we wish him nothing but the very best.”
Everyone at Bristol Manor Farm thanks Louis Britton for his incredible contributions to the club and looks forward to following his journey in the National League. We are proud to have played a part in his development and are excited to see what the future holds for him.
