Louis Britton’s first-half hat-trick capped off a dominant performance as The Farm dismantled Forest Green Rovers in the Gloucestershire Senior Challenge Cup.
Despite a shaky start, with the visitors taking an early lead, that was as good as it got for the young Forest Green side. Farm soon began creating chances at will, and the pressure paid off when Josh Bissett’s effort was parried into the path of Louis Britton, who made no mistake in finding the back of the net.
Britton wasted no time after leveling the game, fully turning the tide in Farm’s favor. A sublime cross from Bissett beat all three Forest Green defenders, and Britton calmly buried his low finish. That goal put the number nine into double figures for the season, and he completed his hat-trick just before the break. Another inch-perfect delivery, this time from full-back Mason Winter, was headed home as Britton secured the match ball.
The first-half damage wasn’t done yet, though, as Farm added a fourth right on the stroke of halftime. Dan Dodimead was brought down in the area, and Dylan Tate confidently converted the resulting penalty.
With the game effectively sealed, Farm controlled much of the second half, slowing the breakneck tempo from the opening 45 minutes. A few chances came and went before they added a fifth, this time courtesy of their academy products. Youngster Regan Lashenko whipped in a teasing corner, which found Harry Lucas, who swept home his second goal of the campaign.
