Louis Britton’s staggering 20th goal of the season won it at the death in a tale of two penalties away to Melksham Town.
The Farm had endured a pretty rotten week and travelled to a buoyant Melksham, who had won in stunning style away to Mousehole in their last match. Despite defensive struggles, Manor Farm had no problem scoring goals all season, and they took the lead after ten minutes. Dan Dodimead created a yard of space in the area before drilling the ball into the far corner. Melksham reacted well and laid siege to the Farm goal for much of the rest of the first half. Jake Brown headed two efforts wide after being picked out twice by Jake Andrews, and it was Andrews who drew them level before the break. He sent in a free kick, and via a Farm deflection, the ball found the far corner.

Andrews and his set pieces continued to cause problems in the second half. Barely a minute in, his corner found Robbie James, who headed just wide. Melksham took the lead as their pressure paid off, with Jake Brown sliding the ball home after a clever pass by Henry Sade. The game dramatically turned around in a frantic two-minute period after eighty minutes. Sade was bundled over in the area for a Melksham penalty, giving them a golden chance to seal the match. But, certainly not for the first time, Seth Locke was equal to the penalty, and he was further rewarded a minute later. A clever counterattack involving Olly Sully and Louis Britton down the right ended with Britton hammering in the equaliser as his incredible run continued.
Melksham missed a big chance in the 92nd minute before bedlam erupted in the away end with the game’s final kick. Farm were awarded a penalty after Britton was fouled inside the area, and he dusted himself off to smash home his 20th goal in all competitions, earning Farm all three points in dramatic style.
