MATCHDAY GUIDE: Yate Town (A)

We hope everyone’s had a very Merry Christmas and are looking forward to Thursday’s huge Bristol derby on Boxing Day at league leaders Yate Town. From Bill Ledbury’s preview to travel information, this matchday guide has everything you need to know ahead of the fixture.

Bill’s Preview:

Yate Town v Bristol Manor Farm – Thursday 26 December, 3pm.

Fresh from Saturday’s Bristol-Bath derby at Larkhall, The Farm face another local showdown, this time travelling just 14 miles north to South Gloucestershire to take on league leaders Yate Town. This marks the beginning of a gruelling run of three matches in seven days, all against teams vying for the top spots in the table. In their last outing, captain Jamie Adams secured a dramatic late equaliser against his former club Larkhall. Now, Jamie faces another reunion as he lines up against his old side Yate in what promises to be one of the standout matches of the season.

Yate Town are in fine form, sitting comfortably atop the table. Key contributions from former Taunton Town players Joe Guest, Ross Stearn, and Marlon Jackson, combined with a strong contingent of Bristol Rovers Academy graduates, have been instrumental to their success. While The Farm hold a slight edge in the recent form guide, derby matches have a habit of defying expectations. Manager Lee Lashenko knows that his side need to ‘cut the throat’ or their opponents in these games if they want to achieve their primary goal this season.
