The Farm remain unbeaten at home but were forced to settle for a draw with Westbury United on Tuesday night.
A heavy fixture schedule seemed to weigh on both sides, as early exchanges at the NL Services Stadium featured very few chances. The visitors’ only real effort of the half fell to former Farm man Bevan Cross, who cut inside but saw his low shot easily gathered by home keeper Seth Locke. Despite struggling to create opportunities, Farm were handed a golden chance after half an hour. A poor back pass was pounced on by Louis Britton, but his usually clinical finishing deserted him, as he fired over from inside the area.
The second half began with a bit more intensity, and Farm carved out a major opportunity within two minutes of the restart. George Dowling slipped a pass through to Britton, who set up Dan Dodimead, only for his shot to be well saved by Evans. Westbury also started to pose more of a threat and could have easily taken the lead either side of the hour mark. First, Dan Restorick headed a corner onto the crossbar, and shortly afterward, Farm skipper Jamie Adams made a heroic block to deny Will Taylor a certain goal after he was left unmarked 10 yards out.
Farm crafted one more significant chance after a rare moment of quality in the game. Josh Bissett was found on the right, and his cutback reached Britton at the back post. The striker opted to take it first time, but his effort was too close to Evans. Westbury pressed harder in the closing stages and created a few more openings. Thomas intercepted a weak Harry Lucas pass back, forcing Locke into a save, and Joe Beardwell blazed wildly over from inside the area.
