MATCH REPORT: Bristol manor Farm

Bristol Manor Farm suffered their second consecutive league defeat on Saturday, as they were beaten 0-2 by play-off-chasing Mousehole AFC at The NL Services Stadium.

At the start of the first half, Manor Farm nearly took the lead when Mason Winter’s cross was whipped to the back post, and the ball crashed off the crossbar. Moments later, they came close again, as a short corner from captain George Dowling was played to Louis Britton, whose shot from close range was brilliantly saved by Mousehole goalkeeper Oliver Chenoweth.

Shortly after, Mousehole opened the scoring when Hayden Turner’s short ball inside the box found Oscar Massey, who spun his man and fired home from close range. Not long after Mousehole had taken the lead, the Portwaymen nearly equalised, as a George Dowling free-kick beat Chenoweth but smashed off the right post.

Towards the end of the first half, the Seagulls nearly doubled their advantage when a Mousehole shot from inside the Farm box was fantastically cleared off the line by Jacob Spence. As the interval approached, Farm trailed narrowly.

Minutes after the second half resumed, the Seagulls did double their advantage. Manor Farm goalkeeper Seth Locke made a great initial save inside the box, but the rebound was hammered into the back of the net by Oscar Massey, securing his second goal of the game. The Portwaymen had an opportunity to pull one back when a corner from Dowling found Spence, but his header went wide of the post.

Late in the second half, Mousehole’s Mohamed Konte was shown a second yellow card and was sent off. However, the Portwaymen were unable to take advantage, as Mousehole held on to secure victory and take home all three points.

Next up for Bristol Manor Farm is an away trip to face mid-table opposition Bashley, where they will be looking to respond positively and return to winning ways. Bashley currently sit in 10th place following their 2-1 away victory at Bideford. After their defeat, Farm remain five points off a play-off place.
