Harry Lucas, The Prince of the Portway, headed Bristol Manor Farm into the Southern League Division One South Play-Off Final on Monday.
The Farmy Army were already in a party mood as they packed into The Lawns Stadium pre-match, and they were rewarded for that vocal support after just three minutes. Owen Brain was played in down the left and he defied the tight angle to send a terrific finish into the very bottom corner to give Farm the lead. Farm continued to push as the home side struggled to build momentum. Max Boyd had to be alert to save a second after former Cribbs man George Kellow freed himself on the counter and struck the ball towards goal.
Cribbs came out looking far livelier in the second half and they equalised on the hour. Pinball in the Farm area caused confusion and chaos before Jacob Hodgson stretched to stab the loose ball home. Many may have thought the pendulum could swing but The Farm had other ideas ten minutes later. Harry Lucas had already earned tremendous praise for his incredible season so far and the youth team graduate got his crowning moment here. Jayden Nielsen’s typical devilish delivery wasn’t punched well by Boyd and Lucas was on hand to head home and send the away fans into delirium once more. The final whistle bought scenes that will live long in the memory and set up a date with old friends Frome Town on Monday.
