A single goal was enough for Malvern as Manor Farm fire a blank for the first time since October, writes Jack Davies.
Neither side were in great recent form, but it was Farm who controlled the early going. Owen Brain driving low early but Josh Bishop pulled off a strong save. The games decisive moment was one to savour for the hosts. Luke Payne let fly from range and the ball flew past Ben John and gave Malvern the lead. Farm had two chances before the break but couldn’t find a way through. Jamie Adams sent a shot wide before Brain’s effort deflected narrowly beyond the post.
Malvern regrouped following that pressure and had much of the early second half going. Joe Bullock forced a save by John and Levi Francis bent an effort wide. Farm huffed and puffed but couldn’t find a way through a stubborn home defence. Brain’s low delivery was somehow missed by everybody as he looked to turn provider. Farm’s final chance came from a very late wide set piece, but a final defensive header saw Malvern claim all three points.
