MATCH REPORT: Tavistock 1-2 Bristol Manor Farm

Bristol Manor Farm delivered a strong performance on the road, securing a well-earned victory at Tavistock.

Farm started brightly, looking hungry from the outset, while Tavistock hoped to weather the storm. However, it was the visitors who were on cloud nine after just twenty minutes. George Dowling lifted a superb pass into Jamie Bird, who beautifully dispatched his first goal since returning to the club.

Top scorer Louis Britton had been leaving defenders in the smog all season, and he almost grabbed a second before the half-hour mark. The striker latched onto a long ball from Seth Locke before lashing a powerful drive against the crossbar.

Britton hadn’t the foggiest idea how he hadn’t scored by the end of the first half, but he is rarely denied for long and found the net just minutes into the second. Dowling was the provider once again, delivering a low corner that was swept home by the big number nine.

Tavistock found a way back into the game on the hour mark when Willins was adjudged to have been fouled in the area. Elliott stepped up and slotted home the penalty to make it 2-1. The home side huffed and puffed but found Locke and his defence in determined form. Their best effort came in the dying minutes when Symons’ driven shot was superbly tipped over by Locke.
