UP NEXT: Paulton Rovers F.C. (H)

Bristol Manor Farm return to home action on Saturday afternoon against Paulton Rovers, following consecutive away trips in the Division One South. Here is all the information ahead of the fixture.

The Farm’s fifth straight victory against Lymington last week pushed Manager Lee Lashenko’s side into the last play-off position – but at the top of the form table with 16 points from their last six matches. Trailing by a single goal at half-time, Farm clawed their way back in champion style courtesy of goals from Jayden Nielsen and Mike Bryant.

Two gutsy, hard-fought away performances will give Lashenko’s side confidence heading into another crucial match against Paulton Rovers at The Creek. Saturday’s match against Rovers will be the fourth time the two sides meet this season. The first two matches ended favourably for Paulton, knocking Farm out of two cup competitions, whereas the third ended 3-1 to Bristol Manor Farm back in October.

The Robins have enjoyed a strong season in the Division One South, sitting in 7th position with 41 points. John Rendell’s side have won 2 and lost 5 from their past seven matches, losing 2-1 last time out at home to Bideford AFC.

LUCAS VOWLES SIGNS

Bristol Manor Farm AFC is thrilled to announce that Lucas Vowles has rejoined the club on an initial months loan from Weston-Super-Mare.

Vowels originally signed for the Farm on 27 June, 2020, and despite only playing 10 matches, the exciting forward contributed seven goals and two assists – including a hat-trick away to Slimbridge AFC.

That previous move to The Creek came after a prolific spell at Toolstation Western League Premier side Clevedon Town, where Vowles scored 44 goals and made 20 assists in the 105 appearances for The Seasides. In November 2020, Vowles moved up a division to sign for Southern League Premier South side Weston-Super-Mare.

Speaking about his new signing, Manager Lee Lashenko commented: “We’re delighted to welcome Lucas back to the club. He’s a player that gave us many memorable moments – despite only playing a handful of games for us

“This move comes in wake of Ben Bament’s red card that he picked up against Plymouth on Saturday. I’ve watched the footage back, and I do believe it was a harsh decision from the referee to send Ben off. However, we needed to react quickly and we’re very happy to bring Lucas back. He’s a player with immense quality, and will only further strengthen our group heading into the business end of the season,” Lashenko expressed.

UP NEXT: Plymouth Parkway F.C (A)

This Saturday, Bristol Manor Farm head south down the M5 for their crunch match against Devonshire outfit Plymouth Parkway. Here is all the information ahead of the Farm’s away fixture.

The Portwaymen stretched their strong vein of form to three wins against Evesham, but Manager Lee Lashenko’s side are fully aware of the difficult task at hand when we head to Bolitho Park.

Earlier this week, we caught up with the boss ahead of Saturday’s match.

“They (Plymouth Parkway) are the in-form team in the division, and produced another strong performance in midweek. We know it will be tough, but I’m going to sound like a broken record – these players are absolutely buzzing at the minute, and they will go to Plymouth full of confidence,” Lashenko expressed.

You can read our latest interview with Manager Lashenko HERE.

It’s been a breathtaking season for the Farm’s opponents so far, and there’s plenty of twists and turns left in this Southern League Division One South season. The Parkway sit just behind the Farmers in 8th position, four points off with five games in hand. Despite playing a number of cup matches, Saturday’s hosts are very much in the promotion hunt with 35 points to their name. Lee Hobbs’ side made it to the Buildbase FA Trophy fourth round, but we’re knocked out of the competition by two late Spenymoor Town goals.

In the reverse fixture on Saturday 28th September, the Farmers produced one of the greatest comebacks seen at The Creek in the last few years. 2-0 down inside the opening 20 minutes, Manor Farm completed the comeback with goals from Owen Howe, Jamie Short, and Kyle Tooze – winning the match 4-2.

Manager Lee Lashenko’s Preview

Bristol Manor Farm’s winning streak was extended to three games on Saturday afternoon, as the Portwaymen defeated Evesham United 2-1 at The Creek. Despite a consolation goal by the visitors late on, it was a near perfect afternoon despite one noticeable absentee on the sidelines. Manager Lee Lashenko started his eight match stadium ban at the weekend, having to watch his side’s performance from a live stream.

Speaking to the club, Lashenko commented: “Once again, I’m very happy with my sides performance against Evesham. I thought we gave a good account of ourselves for the most-part, and my only criticism was that we sat a bit deep too early on for my liking.

“Obviously it was disappointing to miss the match, but I’m very grateful for our media department who setup a live recording so that I could still watch the game from afar. Looking ahead to Saturday’s game, we had a good training session on Tuesday and we’ve got another before the players make the trip down.

The Farmers were forced to make a late tactical change on Saturday, after striker Ben Bament dropped to the bench with a knee strain injury. Despite that, Lashenko was pleased with Shea Bennington-Manning’s first start and wouldn’t rule out making a new signing ahead of the weekend.

“Dicko (Grantley Dicks) and Carts (Stephen Carter) had to make the decision for Ben to sit out the match, and hopefully he won’t be out for very long. But I thought Shea stepped up to the plate, and he gave us a different dimension. He’s a player who likes to make runs in behind and take players on.

“Without Ben we are looking at different options and hopefully we will have someone in before Saturday’s game.
