Farm Hit Five for the Second Time in Four Days as They Ran Riot Against Falmouth.
Confidence could scarcely have been higher for Farm, despite facing a tough test against a Falmouth side with only one defeat this season. The home barrage started early, and Farm took the lead after just two minutes. Josh Bissett beat two defenders down the byline, and although his cutback to Louis Britton only forced a save, Dan Dodimead was on hand to pounce on the rebound and put his side ahead.
The lead became two midway through the half, and in some style. Mason Winter, who had produced an outstanding cross for a goal in the midweek win, was at it again. His bending delivery was perfect for Bissett, whose looping header gave the cross the finish it deserved. Farm kept pressing and almost had a third on the half-hour mark. Another flowing move involving Bissett and Dodimead eventually saw the latter tee up Rhys Thomas, but the midfielder’s effort was well saved by visiting keeper Morgan Coxhead.
The visitors ended the half strongly and halved the deficit on 35 minutes. Tom Annear’s cross was headed in by Cam Hutchinson, whose own looping header dropped in to make it 2-1. Falmouth kept coming and almost equalised when Oscar Massey made himself half a yard in the area, but Seth Locke made a fine save. Farm had one further chance before the break, as centre-backs Jacob Spence and Harry Lucas combined to find Dodimead, but his low effort was saved by Coxhead.
Not for the first time this season, Farm took firm control and ran riot in the second half. Louis Britton had been in incredible goalscoring form, and it seemed inevitable that he would eventually add his name to the scoresheet. Dodimead stole the ball high up the pitch and found his fellow forward, whose fancy footwork left two defenders sprawling before he slotted coolly into the far corner. The big number nine wasn’t done there, as he all but ended the contest with another exquisite goal. Bissett played a perfect 50-yard diagonal to Britton, whose deft lob sailed over Coxhead for his brace and Farm’s fourth.
Even when Falmouth mounted a rare second-half attack, they couldn’t muster a fightback. A flowing move saw a low cross look set for a certain tap-in before Seth Locke threw himself across the goal line to save superbly. Farm added a fifth for the second time in a week, as two substitutes combined late on. Abu Sama, making his debut just a day after signing, was slipped in by Bissett, and his perfect driven ball across the box left Dylan Tate with the simple task of tapping in from a few yards out.
Farm almost had a sixth in stoppage time as Regan Lashenko’s corner was met by Spence, but his header flashed narrowly wide.
