MATCH REPORT: Cinderford town 1-6 Bristol Manor Farm

The Farm ran riot on the road as they hit Cinderford for six at the Causeway Ground, writes Jack Davies.

Farm certainly carried better form into this one, having secured back-to-back Southern League wins followed by a big cup victory last week. In contrast, Cinderford were still searching for their first point in their return season at this level.True to form, Farm flew out of the traps and laid an early siege to the Cinderford goal. Rhys Thomas flashed an early effort just wide, before Josh Bissett curled an attempt just over. A few more chances came and went for Farm before they were handed a golden opportunity to open the scoring from the spot. Louis Britton, who had forced the handball leading to the penalty, stepped up and drilled home for his fifth goal in five games. Another man in fine form, Bissett, doubled the lead just four minutes later. The tricky winger drove at the home defence and rifled a shot low into the far corner. However, Farm wouldn’t have it all their own way, as a rare Cinderford attack got them back into the game, with Andy Lewis scoring a terrific half-volley to halve the deficit. Farm still entered the break with a two-goal advantage after grabbing a third goal late in the first half. Bissett’s cross found its way to the back post, where fellow newcomer George Dowling was on hand to send a lovely sliced half-volley into the corner, opening his account for the club.

The second half continued in much the same vein, with Farm attacking at will. More chances were spurned before the visitors truly ran riot in the final half hour. Three became four just after the hour mark, as Bissett grabbed his second of the match, nipping across his man at the near post and sliding in a low finish. Not to be outdone, Britton secured a brace of his own late on. The flying forward shrugged off two challenges in the area before emphatically placing the ball into the far top corner – just the six goals in five games now for Farm’s new number nine. The only thing left was for the returning Dan Dodimead to come off the bench and add his name to the scoresheet. He collected a low pass and calmly slid the ball under the home keeper to make it six.
