Bristol Manor Farm suffered their first defeat of the season on Tuesday night, falling 2-0 away to Evesham United, writes William Ledbury.
After securing a hard-fought point at home against Melksham last Saturday, the Farm were eager to build momentum and secure all three points. However, their hopes were dashed early on when a defensive lapse put them on the back foot. Just five minutes into the match, Theo Llewellyn’s misplaced header fell into the path of Levi Steele, who made no mistake from close range to give the hosts an early lead. Despite the setback, Manor Farm responded well, controlling much of the first half’s possession and dictating the tempo of the game.
The Farm’s best chance to draw level came just before the break. New signing Louis Britton, who has shown promise since his arrival, found himself in a great position inside the box. Unfortunately, his header drifted just wide of the back post, leaving Manor trailing at halftime.

In the second half, Evesham United focused on containing a determined and energetic Farm side. Despite their best efforts and sustained pressure, Manor Farm struggled to break down the home team’s solid defense. Evesham’s summer signing, Josh Barlow, then put the game beyond doubt in the 72nd minute with a stunning long-range strike that flew past Seth Locke.
Manor Farm will need to quickly regroup as they turn their attention to an important FA Cup fixture against Easington Sports in the Preliminary Round this Saturday. The team will be eager to bounce back and keep their cup dreams alive after this disappointing defeat.
