Bristol Manor Farm and its supporters will certainly enjoy their Christmas Day that little bit more as the 10-man Farmers pick up a valuable three points at Larkhall, writes Jack Davies.
Manor Farm had a pretty happy winter so far, with four points from the last six available and had the majority of early possession. George Kellow had an effort blocked away early before Farm took the lead after 12 minutes. Daniel Dodimead had been excellent since his signing last month and he finally capped those fine performances with his first goal. A recycled corner was sent back into the area and the young striker swivelled and fired the ball home. A positive start turned sour after 20 minutes as Farm were reduced to 10 men. Mason Winter adjudged to have been late in a challenge and his side would have a man disadvantage for well over an hour. But the away side were far from deterred and double their lead before the break. Larkhall’s defender handled in the area and the inform Jayden Nielsen dispatched the penalty in some style.
The second half continued in the same vein, with Farm still coming forward despite being down to 10. Nielsen flashed a shot just over before Farm somehow got a third. Owen Brain scored twice against Larkhall on the opening day, and he was at it again just after the hour. The forward showed superb strength to win the ball in the area and his cute finish squeezed through the home keeper’s legs. Larkhall would get a chance from the spot themselves as they sought a route back into the game. Further indication that this was Farm’s day would follow though, as Ben John tipped the spot kick onto the crossbar. Larkhall would have the final word as they did spoil the Farm clean sheet. Archie Ferris at the second attempt, finally getting the home side on the scoresheet.
