It was another gr-eight performance from Manor Farm as they earned their spot in the FA Trophy first round proper.
Both teams had been in great form in the league and in this competition, and a cagey opening showed that neither was willing to give an inch. Louis Britton, who had been in incredible goalscoring form, had the game’s first chance, but he lashed over after good work from Josh Bissett. The home side had more of the ball in the first half, but it was Farm creating most of the early efforts on goal. Jacob Spence stayed up after a cleared corner, and his cutback was scooped over by Dan Dodimead. Farm took the lead in the final minute of normal time, much to the delight of the incredible travelling supporters. Rhys Thomas burst past a defender before lashing a low effort into the near post for his first goal of the season.

Farm continued to probe, with former Mousehole man Bissett at the heart of most of their attacks. Abu Sama, making his first start, crossed low, and Bissett was inches away from a back-post tap-in. Farm doubled their lead on the hour mark as their magnificent run looked set to continue. The ball fizzed around the Mousehole area before Britton controlled, sidestepped the keeper, and rolled the ball into the empty net—his sixth goal in just three FA Trophy games.
The only thing missing from many of Farm’s recent performances had been a clean sheet, and that was secured with minimal fuss as Farm made it eight wins in a row in all competitions.
