MATCHDAY GUIDE: Shaftesbury (A)

Bristol Manor Farm head down to Shaftesbury on Saturday afternoon – their first away match in three games. From our preview through to travel information, this matchday guide has everything you need to know ahead of the fixture.

Bill’s Preview:

Shaftesbury v Bristol Manor Farm – Saturday 23 November, 3pm.

Bristol Manor Farm will make the hour-or-so journey to North Dorset on Saturday afternoon, aiming to quickly put Tuesday night’s result behind them. The Farm have endured a notable run of unforeseen difficulties in recent weeks, ranging from injuries to suspensions. After a challenging string of results, an excellent home win over play-off-chasing Bashley reminded the Farmy Army of the squad’s undeniable quality. However, with several key players absent on Tuesday, The Farm were punished by a ruthless Bishops Cleeve side.

Looking to bounce back, Manager Lee Lashenko moved swiftly to reintroduce Owen Howe and Ben Bament to the club—players who epitomise the BMF DNA. Further additions may also be made ahead of Saturday’s crucial match against Shaftesbury.

Shaftesbury currently sit in the relegation zone, but as we know from experience, it’s still relatively early days. The Rockies will be determined to fight for survival this season. Brett Pitman, who scored an astonishing 56 goals during their promotion campaign last year, has recently signed on a permanent basis. The Rockies will be counting on him to continue his prolific form in front of goal.

Manager Lee Lashenko had this to say ahead of the fixture:

“When we go away from home, we go mob-handed with a good following behind us,” Lashenko said. “We’ll be ready for the task, and the players that I will have at my disposal going into that battle will be revved up and ready to go. We’re not here to feel sorry for ourselves or make any excuses because we know that we’re a good side.”
