Welcome back Evander

Bristol Manor Farm manager Lee Lashenko has completed a ‘hat-trick of returns’ by confirming the re-signing of Evander Grubb on Thursday afternoon.

Following the additions of Owen Howe and Ben Bament, Grubb’s return looks set to complete Lashenko’s squad as the Farm gear up for the crucial festive period, with their sights firmly fixed on climbing the Division One South table.

Grubb is a well-known name at The Creek, having first risen to prominence in the summer of 2020. He made history by becoming the youngest-ever goalscorer in an FA Cup tie, netting twice at just 16 years and 54 days old during a 5-1 victory over Cadbury Heath in September of that year.

After a successful trial, Grubb earned a scholarship at Huddersfield Town, where he featured for the Terriers’ Under-17 and Under-19 teams. He returned to Manor Farm on a month-long loan in December 2021, which was later extended for the 2022-23 season, before leaving Huddersfield at the end of that campaign.

Grubb’s talent attracted interest from numerous clubs higher up the football pyramid, and he ultimately signed for Conference South side Taunton Town for the 2023/24 season. During his time with the Peacocks, who were later relegated to the Southern League Premier South, Grubb began the season in impressive form, scoring twice against Gloucester City on the opening day and earning the Man of the Match award. He later moved to Tiverton Town for a short spell before deciding to return to The Farm ahead of Saturday’s important fixture against Shaftesbury.
